About Tall Annie: A Life In Two Genders

This book is the autobiography of Anne Graham covering her eventful life before and then after her gender transition in 1996.   At age 46, she began living a more genuine and very happy life.   On one level that is a synopsis of these pages.

On a second and deeper level, the book is a personal cry of protest against the demonization of transgender people. Anne hopes to reach a broad audience with this truthful account of an entire transgender life… a life that just by having existed gives the lie to the recent rise in politically-charged misinformation about people like her.

This book was selected the winner in its category of ‘Biography / Autobiography’ in the 2025 International Impact Book Awards.

I had a professional career in both genders in the semiconductor and solar industries. I transitioned in mid-life while in a senior role for Intel Corporation. I have never been an activist and, in fact, was ‘stealth’ for most of my life as a woman. My husband and I now live in Central Oregon where people who love mountains and wish to avoid Oregon’s famous rain reside.

My story is informed by my work experience which includes; U.S. Navy nuclear-trained submariner, Vietnam Veteran, Facilities Engineer, Director of Facilities, local politician, and semiconductor factory designer, with attendant international experiences including two years in China. I am now focusing on giving back to society for the bounty I have received from it. My hope that this book will be one more way to give back. I would very much enjoy hearing from anyone with questions or comments about my book at my email ... girlonasub@aol.com
