The Art of Fiction
Author Panel

Sunday, September 14th, 12:30am - 1:30pm, Paulina Springs Books
**FREE**

What makes a piece of fiction resonate long after the final page is turned? In this panel, three acclaimed Northwest authors come together to explore the craft, inspiration, and challenges of writing stories that matter.

  • Maxim Loskutoff (Old King, Ruthie Fear) brings his bold, place-driven storytelling, blending myth, history, and the stark realities of the American West.

  • Gigi Little (Who Killed One the Gun) offers a sharp, inventive voice that navigates identity, truth, and the blurred lines between art and life.

  • Jon Raymond (God and Sex, Denial, screenwriter of Mildred Pierce and Meek’s Cutoff) examines how fiction reflects—and sometimes resists—the world we live in.

Together, they’ll discuss their creative processes, the role of character and setting, and how fiction can help us better understand ourselves and each other.

The conversation will be moderated by Lane Jacobson, Executive Director of the Sisters Festival of Books and owner of Paulina Springs Books, who will guide the discussion toward both the practical and the profound—what it means to be a working writer today, and why fiction remains one of our most enduring art forms.
